Biography

R. C. Yavas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bilkent University. His research interests include information theory and multi-armed bandits. In particular, his works are on the topics of finite-blocklength channel coding, variable-length feedback codes, and best-arm identification.

Before joining Bilkent, he was a Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at National University of Singapore, supervised by Prof. Jonathan Scarlett and Prof. Vincent Y. F. Tan.
